- The words are so perfect that it comes off as a performance to Nick. He seems fake and like the words he's saying are rehearsed.
- Gatsby is a little weird about the information he has for NIck and this annoys Nick rather than make him interested.
- The city from far away looks great but up close you get to see what goes on behind the curtain
- In chapter 3 we really get to see the food, the set up. A little later you get to see who the people were and their stories.
- The people seem to be famous or rich, but they have tragic back stories and or weird things have happened to them
- The description of the people are racist. The descriptions are "horrifyingly" stereotypical. ( This isn't done by Nick but rather by the writer, Was the author racist?)
- Gatsby describes Baker as someone who would never do something that wasn't alright. This is something that everybody knows, even Gatsby so why would he say this?
- Nick is honest about why he wasn't happy that Gatsby was being suspicous and not up front about what he wanted to tell Nick.
- Gatsby is friends with someone who was behind the buggest scandal in sports history, someone who sits while people around him re getting killed. Who is Gatsby?
- We find out why Gatsby gets a little embarrassed at meeting Tom and just gets up and leaves, we found out why.
- We see why Gatsby lives by the dock on the greenlight and right across DAISY!
- It turns out that Gatsby was at the dock at the end of chapter 1 because of daisy, they dated when they were young.
- Gatsby arranges his whole life around Daisy(sort of like Joe from YOU)
