People: 
Daisy:is nicks second cousin, she is pretending to be catholic 
Mrs.McKee: Uses racist slang, clearly unhappy and hateful 
Myrtle: was the wife a mechanic, then acts like she's all that because she has money. 
Mr.Mcgee: he was drunk 

Daisy is Toms wife, Myrtlle is mistress, mechanics wife both are Wilson's 




OBSERVATIONS + THOUGHTS + EVENTS
chapter 2

• Nick: feel like an outsider when he's with all the people in the apartment. 
• I still can't get over the amount of detail in the book, it will never cease to amaze me. 
• The author uses the diorientation in the character connected by his use of grammer, or more lack of. 
• The use of the authors word 'violently' comes in handy when he talks aboout the events that occur after.  
• The book left me in confusion bc they use different names for the same people and inbetween taking notes and the book things tend to get a little complicated 
• Tom shuts Mrttyle up the only way a masogynistic man can, by hitting her.
• Nick is really drunk and falls asleep on the train. 
• Chapter 3 - we get our first look at one of Gatsby's Great Parties
• Poeple don't get invited to Gatsbys' parties, they just show up. Nick on the other hand was invited, actually. 
• cordial- racy responses, said by Mrs. Baker 
• We got to the part where rumors about Gtsby are about to surface
