For him to write about things are happening now are crazy. The character himself is witty as you'd expect an english writer to be, you see this in his first response to the cop car. His actions are seen as strange and those of someone who needs help, he gets judged for not being married or owning a tv. He also gets judged for taking regular walks around he streets. You see it in the"cops" response to his answers.
