Now I remember

A strategy that helped me with memorizing Richard Cory is by grouping the different sections. i grouped it in the parts where the poem split up every two lines. Words I would mess up on or had to keep correcting were what helped me memorize more of the poems. Having to fix these problems were what helped keep them engraved into my head. Richard Cory was an easy poem to memorize since it was short and caught my attention. The skills are always something i have used and finding out that there are others who use the same method or the fact that they're widely known methods amazes me. I never knew why it was that these strategies always seemed to work and figuring out the reason why has really changed my way of looking at different memorizing methods. Everyone has their tricks that work for them and I'm really glad I was able to figure out mine. They come in really handy and I don't think I'll ever stop using them.

Communication Strategies of a Hacker

The Mentors use of diction convey his message by using words that keep the intended audience captivated. Like his use of profanity makes the younger teen audience keep on reading and entertained, but his use of bigger and smarter sounding words gets the attention of an older reader. The diction also helps show his annoyance with how adults tend to treat teens and how they generalize them into one group as a whole. So when he says underachievers I feel like that is an attempt at separating himself from the rest. The use of "Damn, kids"  shows how he sees the adults act towards teens and kids in general. The syntax he uses like repeating the same phrases like "damn kids" and "all alike" help in showing his message which is that not all kids are the same and grouping them together all the time to in a way demean them and what they have to say is overrated. His message also includes that its no wonder most are the same because they're all raised the same with no individuality since birth. People raise kids so that they are easy to control and dominate which is why I think he calls the adults sadists. The mentors message I feel is to also help encourage teenagers who read it to ignore whatever the people demand of them and to take the control back.

Welcome to my blog ! My theme for this blog is not yet known, but I'm hoping to get some inspiration as to what it could be as we go. Writing on the computer is always something I did better than pen and paper so I'm really looking forward to see what direction this blog will take.

A Second helping of Socratic Seminar: A right is something that other people must honor. One persons right creates another persons obligation. A right to an opinion can also be what stops an argument. Limbic area is a part of our brain that governs our emotions. The logical part of our brain switches to an emotional fight. Keeping our focus on the issue is key. So is supporting our argument with evidence. Our mutual understanding of currency, we give meaning to currency. Claiming a right to an opinion doesn't get us closer to the truth, we are not entitled to someone else's agreement. You can't incite violence or fear to the public, you can't cause panic. LOCO Parenti: legal principle that allows the school to act in place of parents: e.g. dress code. Syllogism: the simplest form of argument.
